For help on deciding which specialization would be the right fit for your Inquisitor mage and guides on how to complete the required quests, we've got all the information you need just below.

Where to Find the Mage Trainers

The three mage specialization trainers can be found just in front of the main gate in Skyhold, in the lower courtyard. Commander Helaine offers the Knight-Enchanter role, Viuus Annaxas offers the Necromancer role, and Your Trainer offers the Rift Mage role.

Players are able to speak to all three trainers and undertake all three quests, however, they can only complete one and only receive one specialization. Be careful that the first quest you hand in is the specialization that you really want because after you complete one, you will be unable to complete either of the other quests.

Can you get all three specializations in Dragon Age: Inquisition? ›

Every class in Dragon Age: Inquisition can learn one of three Specializations, in addition to the four ability trees. These specializations can let a character further customize their style and attack methods, allowing for more diverse combos and attacks.

What is the best specialization for mage? ›

Although each specialization has strengths and weaknesses, we recommend Frost as the best Mage leveling spec. Frost Mages have a lot of control from snares and roots and can easily kite mobs while having significant burst damage from using the triple damage component of Ice Lance to stay healthy.

Is it better to work with Templars or mages? ›

Siding with the Mages leads to a more interesting quest line and unique rewards for Mage characters. Deciding to side with the Templars offers benefits for Warrior builds and approval from more party members.

How do you complete Specializations for the Inquisitor? ›

The Operation Specializations for the Inquisitor must be completed to access any of the specialization side quests. To do this you must have completed the main story quest In Your Heart Shall Burn and be in Skyhold. You must have also visited the Undercroft when you first get to Skyhold.

Is anything missable in Dragon Age: Inquisition? ›

Everything "missable" is relatively minor. Only completionists are likely to care. The mage and templar headquarter quests in the Hinterlands disappear if you don't do them beforehand. However, even if you don't actually find them yourself, the characters will give you credit for finding them after you pick a side.

Can you become a Templar in Dragon Age: Inquisition? ›

After assembling the ingredients, you can assemble the standard at any requisition table, then deliver it to resolve the quest. Afterward, you can choose to commit to being a Templar. If you decline, you can come back and commit to it later as long as you haven't committed to either of the others.

What happens to the mages if you side with templars? ›

If the player sides with the Templars, then the Mages serve Corypheus, and his second in command becomes Calpernia. Many fans prefer her to Samson, courtesy of her backstory. Calpernia is an ex-slave from Tevinter and a talented, capable leader.

Who is the best mage in Dragon Age Inquisition? ›

Though patched to reduce its absurd strength, perhaps the strongest Mage specialization, still, is the Knight-Enchanter. As a support class, the Knight-Enchanter makes the most of the protective barriers that define that playstyle, while also being capable of dealing extreme amounts of damage with Spirit Blade.

Can you get Dorian if you side with the Templars? ›

Recruiting. You can recruit Dorian to your party in two ways, depending on what decisions you make. If you side with the Mages during In Hushed Whispers, he will instead be found in Redcliffe Village's Chantry.

The level cap is 27, it's pretty easy to hit if you do all quests and have the DLC. Turn on the trial "Even Ground" and you can get hit it with several areas left to explore. 9-14-1959 - 5-4-2014. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall.

How to become a reaver in Dragon Age: Inquisition? ›

Head to the requisition table (with the Quartermaster in Skyhold, near the tavern) and actually construct your Reaver infusion using the rashvines, primers, and dragon blood.
