What is KY library unbound? ›

Kentucky Libraries Unbound is a free service that allows you to download e-books, audiobooks and digital magazines to computers, smartphones, e-readers or tablets.

If you don't already have a library card, you can register for a digital library card for use with most of our online resources, like Kentucky Libraries Unbound (ebooks), Comics Plus (comics), New York Times and Wall Street Journal (newspapers) and more!

By State law, the Library receives five cents for every $100 of assessed property value in Lexington and Fayette County. This is the minimum amount allowed by the state of Kentucky for support of public libraries. Many counties choose to support their libraries at a higher level.

Purpose. Library binding is a way to increase the life of books and periodicals used in libraries. This is done by sewing the pages in place and by reinforcing the spine for each volume. The goal of library binding is long-term preservation.

William T. Young Library is the central library in the University of Kentucky library system. Young Library houses a general undergraduate collection as well as materials in agriculture, biology, business, humanities, and the social sciences.

Kentucky residents who aren't eligible for a free library card can pay a $10.00 fee. For juveniles (under age 18), a parent or legal guardian must apply and present identification. Please apply in person at any of our locations.

Present your valid Florida Driver's License or Florida State Identification, showing your correct name and residential street address within our Library District.

Douglas County residents can get an eCard online. An eCard provides instant access to digital materials and does not provide borrowing privileges of physical items and or holds on physical items. Patrons who already have an Omaha Public Library card do not need an eCard.

Libby works with public libraries that use OverDrive (the makers of Libby) to lend digital titles. If you can't find your library in Libby, it might be because they haven't developed a collection with OverDrive.

State taxes and special revenues cover roughly a third of those expenses. But federal grants cover a much smaller portion, often for minor renovations or one-time improvements.

Public libraries pay for the copies of books they purchase. Royalties are paid by the publishers of the books.

A library consortium is a cooperative organization of libraries created for the purpose of sharing resources and reciprocity, and restricted by commonly recognized agreements and contracts.

The Library system has a binding section where library resources that are worn out are repaired and bound. The section also provides support for materials that are not easily shelved without damage.

Items may be returned to any Louisville Free Public Library location. LFPL does not charge overdue fees, but you are responsible for returning items on time and replacement fees for lost or damaged items still apply.
