Cumberland, MD – On Friday, the Cumberland City Police Department served two arrest warrants on Jessica Buckingham. Buckingham had failed to appear in court for a theft charge and was also wanted for issuing a bad check at a business on Franklin Street on July 15, 2018. She was given a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.
Jessica Lee Buckingham, 30, of Greenspring, WV, was arrested on charges of failure to appear and issuing a bad check ranging from $100 to less than $1,500.
Later on Friday, at approximately 4:30 PM, an officer on foot patrol near the George Washington Monument on Greene Street observed a disturbance involving several subjects. The officer instructed the individuals to disperse. However, upon a later check, Jeannie Rymer was still causing a disturbance. Rymer was arrested, transported to the police station, issued two criminal citations, and released pending trial.
Jeannie Ann Rymer, 57, of Cumberland, MD, faces charges of disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.
Additionally, on Friday, the Cumberland City Police Department served an arrest warrant on Caitlyn Biggs for failing to appear in court regarding a traffic charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving unattended property. Biggs was given a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.
Caitlyn Noel Isabella Biggs, 31, of Cumberland, MD, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear.

- Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Garage Fire
LaPlata, MD - Early this morning at 2:00 AM, the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire in the Ellenwood area of LaPlata. Upon arrival, units found an active fire at the scene.
Engine 8-2 was tasked with establishing a tanker fill site, which was set up at the Clark Senior Center. Tanker 8 provided one load of water to assist in extinguishing the fire, while Engine 8-2 filled multiple tankers to ensure a continuous water supply for the firefighting efforts.
The quick response and coordination of the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department were crucial in managing the fire and preventing further damage.
- Man Arrested for Stabbing at Rosemary Ridge Apartments
MANASSAS, VA — A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident on July 4 at the Rosemary Ridge Apartments in the 10900 block of Morning Glory Court.
At approximately 9:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 45-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as Darius Lamont Chisley, 49, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, Chisley allegedly retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times before leaving the residence.
Officers canvassed the area and located Chisley nearby, detaining him without incident. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Darius Lamont Chisley, of 9010 Stonecrest Drive in Warrenton, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. His court date is pending, and bond information is unavailable at this time.
