Danny had just settled in for a lazy afternoon, lounging in his cozy living room wearing nothing but an oversized t-shirt and a pair of comfy jeans. The summer sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm, golden light over the room. He was enjoying the rare tranquility, his messy hair, his makeup-free face, and not wearing a hint of anything feminine in any way reflected his relaxed state.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, shattering the peaceful silence. Danny wasn't expecting anyone and, with a small sigh, he reluctantly got up to answer the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by a beaming Gina, his new 'friend from school', who was practically bouncing with excitement. Beside her stood a tall, athletic-looking guy with a friendly grin plastered on his face.
"Danny! Hey girl!" Gina chirped, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "I wanted to surprise you! This is Phil, a freshman at college. I just *had* to introduce you two. I think you guys would be perfect together!"
Danny's eyes widened in surprise as he glanced at Phil, who looked at him awkwardly. Phil turned quickly but then looked back for a second. He locked eyes with Danny. Danny immediately felt self-conscious about his underdressed state, wishing he'd at least put on something more presentable. His cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment, but he forced a polite smile.
"Uh, hi, Phil," Danny managed, trying to keep his voice steady. "Nice to meet you."
Phil nodded, clearly sensing his discomfort but trying to be polite. "Nice to meet you too, Danny."
Danny quickly shifted his gaze back to Gina, who was practically glowing with excitement. Gina had always been the bubbly, impulsive type, and it was clear she hadn't considered the possibility that Danny might not be ready for an impromptu introduction like this.
"Gina, can I talk to you for a sec?" Danny asked, her voice slightly strained. Without waiting for an answer, he gently grabbed Gina's arm and pulled her aside into the hallway, out of Phil's earshot.
As Danny and Gina talked, Phil felt uneasy. He could feel his heart in his throat. "How did Gina convince me to go with her?" he wondered. This was so unlike him.
Once they were alone, Danny let out a small, exasperated sigh. "Gina, you really should have given me a warning before bringing someone over, especially a guy I don't know. I'm not exactly dressed for company, and I wasn't expecting anyone."
Gina's face fell slightly as she realized her mistake. "Oh, Danny, I'm so sorry! I didn't even think about that. I just got so excited about your two meeting, and I thought it would be a great surprise!"
Danny sighed again, but this time it was softer, more resigned. "I get that, Gina, and I appreciate the thought, but I would've liked a heads-up. I'm not really in the mood for this right now."
Gina's expression shifted from apologetic to determined as if she hadn't heard Danny's last sentence. She grabbed Danny's hands and squeezed them, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I know it's a little sudden, but come on, Danny! Just give it a chance. Phil's a great guy, and I really think you two would hit it off. You don't have to do anything fancy---just agree to go out with him, maybe grab a coffee or something."
Danny opened his mouth to protest, but Gina's pleading eyes and her unwavering excitement made it hard to say no. Before he knew it, Gina was already dragging him back into the living room where Phil was waiting, looking a bit awkward standing by himself.
"Gina, really, I don't---" Danny began, but Gina cut her off with a determined smile.
"So, it's settled! You two are going on a date," Gina announced triumphantly, as if it had been Danny's idea all along.
Phil's eyes widened in surprise, but then he smiled, looking both relieved and pleased. "I mean, if you're up for it, Danny. We could just keep it casual, no pressure."
Danny hesitated, still feeling out of his element, but with both of them looking at him expectantly, he knew he was cornered. Finally, he let out a reluctant sigh and nodded. "Okay, sure. Coffee sounds good."
Gina clapped her hands together, her excitement bubbling over once more. "Perfect! You guys are going to have so much fun!"
As Danny exchanged a shy smile with Phil, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions---embarrassment, reluctance, but also a tiny bit of curiosity. He wasn't sure how this unexpected turn of events would play out, but with Gina's relentless enthusiasm driving the situation, it seemed he didn't have much choice but to go along with it.
As Gina and Phil walked away, Danny wondered when Lexi would be showing up at his door with a man for him.
Danny phoned Phil to finalize their plans. Danny would pick Phil up.
The date consumed Phil's thoughts. Despite it was going to be a casual date, Phil bought an entirely new outfit. He didn't leave anything to chance. He spent days looking for the perfect outfit. He chose a faux leather mini shirt paired with a beige gathered bodysuit. The bodysuit had long sleeves and a square neck in addition to a tulle overlay.
Phil wore the outfit with black knee-high boots, a gold snake chain necklace, dangling gold earrings, and a gold chainlink mini purse. Underneath he wore a black thong and matching demi bra.
The day before the date, Phil had his legs waxed and had extensions attached to his hair, which he styled in a high ponytail.
When Danny arrived for their date, he was dressed like a man wearing a polo shirt and skinny jeans.
The actual date only lasted about ninety minutes. Phil giggled throughout. He laughed at all of Danny's jokes and found excuses to touch Danny's hands or arms at every possible moment.
Danny promised that he would call Phil as soon as possible when he dropped Phil off at his door and gave him a slightly more than just friendly kiss.
